Avión, Nave cultural

March 30, 1992, a DC-9 airliner crashlands at Granada airport. No one was injured and there were no casualties. A while later, the plane is picked up by a sculptor and his wife on their way back from Seville. Ten years later, the couple meets two young architects. Together they resolve to restore the aircraft and to transform it into a freestanding cultural space. In 2005, after more than a year of labor, the former DC-9 emerged as a monumental sculpture 25 meters long as well as a venue for shows, concerts, films, conferences or installations. Opening on June, 29th: Herman Helle (Rotterdam), History of the World Part 11. Brian Mackern (Montevideo), concert streamed live from Uruguay.
