Mnemopark

Mr. Kurrus, Mr. Mühlethaler, Mr. Löhle and Mrs. Ludewig have been making electric train models for thirty years. For Mnemopark, these retirees get on stage and fly away to a simpler, dream-like, utopic world. With the help of a screen, mini-cameras and a blue-box, they appear amidst a miniature landscape entirely created by them. They frolic in the countryside. They walk into the house they grew up in. They sleep next to the train tracks. Mr. Durrus lost his glasses in the garden. Mr. Löhle is filming the passing trains. Mr. Mühlethaler talks about his career. Stefan Kaegi, a Swiss artist, put together this play and real-time movie. His actors are all amateurs. They are all part of the same model-train club. The project also brings up the kitsch imagery of a « larger than life » Switzerland.
