According to federal regulations, alarms ensure "the broadcast of behavioural instructions to aid the protection of the population". The law establishes the rules of a purely functional simulation. Sound Escape planned to hijack the alarms of Fribourg, transforming the experience of alarms within public spaces into a fictional encounter never before heard. An aesthetic escape signal, beyond the "protocol" prescribed by institutions. This project was originally selected as one of the Future Nostalgia commissions but was not possible to realise due to safety regulations.
