Anyám orra

It’s the story of a wealthy real estate mogul who needs a kidney transplant. The most compatible donor would be his son, estranged for thirty years. He goes looking for him, accompanied by a fake Romanian doctor and his translator. In a village accross the border, he finds the young man married but trying to seduce a friend’s wife. The father promises his son to make him his rightful heir, convincing him to follow without revealing his true motive. In the woods, the young man is attacked and the phony doctor operates right then and there. But things do not go as planned… Anyám orra is a David Lynch-esque entanglement of nightmares and reality, a remarkably intelligent satire about cruelty, egocentricity and ethnic mixing. The play is greatly supplemented by remixed transylvanian songs. It’s the latest project from the most noticed company in Hungary, and now abroad.
